Year-Round Mentoring Group for Marketplace Leaders
with Stephen Giere and Barbara Herrmann
Programme Overview
Goal
To support, equip, and mentor experienced and aspiring leaders in the European marketplace; helping them to navigate the challenge of integrating the professional, personal, and spiritual dimensions of their lives. We will study seven principles of biblical leadership and the life of King David, observing how he applied these principles. Desired results include greater clarity of purpose and direction, thus providing a framework for effective decision making for greater Kingdom impact.
Participants
Business leaders or owners desiring to apply the principles of biblical leadership and be used by God to have greater impact for God’s Kingdom in their business and community.
Qualifications
Participants are devoted followers of Jesus Christ and employed in the secular marketplace as business owners, CEOs and presidents, or managers in their companies. Aspiring business managers may be accepted depending on experience.

In-Person Meetings with places TBC:
2027 Pre-Forum Seminar: 22 May, Saturday: 14:00 - 17:30,
Three-day December Retreat from noon to noon on 29 November-1 December 2027
2028 Pre Forum Conference: from Friday, 19 May, through Saturday, 20 May. Participants will still need to apply for the Forum and will be responsible for paying Forum fees in order to participate in the 2028 Forum. Participants must also pay for their own travel expenses.

December 2027 – May 2028: One-hour Bible study every two weeks; “The Life of David”

YRM Leaders
Stephen Giere has served in Christian ministry in America and Europe for more than forty years. He taught and led a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) class of 500 men in Chicago for seventeen years. Steve is a board member with the Forum of Christian Leaders and serves as a lecturer/mentor at the Cambridge Leaders Network. Steve and his wife, Connie, are residents of Geneva, IL and members of The Moody Church in Chicago, a diverse, urban congregation with seventy countries of birth and fifty mother languages represented in its membership. There he teaches, mentors, and serves as an elder. They have two grown children and ten grandchildren. Steve retired in 2019 from the financial sector, serving in corporate management as CEO of a commercial bank, and as a business owner establishing an investment management practice. He earned his B.A. in psychology at North Central College, M.M. from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and DMin in Christian Community Development at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Barbara Herrmann leads a team in her consulting business for organisation, leadership, and strategy development. She guides church leaders and several teams on how to develop their organisations. She delivered numerous development workshops and is working one-on-one with different leaders. At different churches and Christian organizations, she organised marketplace leader initiatives and she has also been supporting a church plant initiative. She has led a team of 60 at a multinational company as a people and transformation manager for 5 years. Before that, she led international teams for large-scale change, culture development, leadership, organisation, operations and transformation programs (35-70.000 colleagues).
