Hear from the Mentor

Read from Past Participants

“I applied some of the ideas I got during the YRM at our event in February this year, I changed my attitude towards different practices and principles after I had a chance to learn more about Christian events around the world. The bonds between our core team members strenghtened as the three of us were able to participate in the YRM. I was personally inspired and challenged in my journey with God by the speakers of the YRM.

“This training was not simply lecture-based ‘show and tell’ formats. The mentor and other peers are very experienced. So, to build an understanding of how to create, produce and deliver events, this training was practical and experiential. From here we know how to structure and create experiences. Our participation was active, engaging and effective which will help and encourage me lot to apply in my own ministry. As per my plan I will develop and train my team first which I have learned from here.”

Programme Overview

Thousands of Euros are spent every year on events and conferences organized by churches and para-church organizations. We all are convinced that our organized events are necessary and helpful, but we often fail to analyse the results to see if our goals and objectives have been met in both the long and short term. Only recently have the first studies of events’ long-term impact been undertaken worldwide. There are, however, tools that we can easily use to evaluate spiritual and cognitive progress, as well as measure behavioral impact. This mentoring network can help you find answers to the following questions:

  • What do I need to run an event well?

  • What tools can I use to measure the impact of my event?

  • What steps can I take before running an event that will help me evaluate it afterwards?

  • To ensure my event’s long-lasting impact, what objectives should I set and what post-event resources could I make available to enhance learning?

GOAL: To provide training and mentoring for event co-ordinators, which helps them organize excellent events that have a long-lasting impact—Christians who are transformed and discipled to become disciple-makers.

PARTICIPANTS: Eight to ten leaders who are currently organizing events, camps, retreats, etc. in their church or in a Christian organization. These leaders should be willing to receive training throughout the year in order to improve their event organizing abilities, learn from each other, and develop tools to measure the impact of their various events.

QUALIFICATIONS: Each participant should be involved in organizing events. They could be serving as a staff member or leader in their church or organization whose role is related to and/or includes organizing events.

PLAN:

*  An online starting session in September

*  Four two-hour webinars, with webinar assignments

*  Three-day retreat on 3-5 December 2024 in Budapest, Hungary

*  Pre-Forum Conference at the 2025 Forum (Friday, 16 May, dinner together – Saturday, 17 May, morning). Participants will still need to apply for the European Leadership Forum and will be responsible for paying Forum fees in order to participate in the 2025 Forum. Participants must also pay for their own travel expenses.
