Scientific Apologetics Seminar

Would God get rid of science? – Scientific Apologetics, Science, and Christian Faith.

with Alexander Fink

(2025/2026)

In this seminar, we want to explore the relationship of the natural sciences and God.

For many people science still is a big reason why they can’t believe in God. But why do so many people believe that science has refuted the existence of God? It has to do with a misunderstanding of the basic conflict which is not between Science and faith, but naturalistic, atheistic worldview and faith in God. Many scientists were committed believers in the Christian God.

The questions which we can cover in this seminar can be chosen from these 6 modules:

  1. Can science actually prove or disprove the existence of God? And which arguments are there from science that point towards a personal creator?

  2. Why do cosmologists rediscover God?

  3. Are miracles scientifically possible?

  4. Does neuroscience refute the existence of a Soul and explain faith in God?

  5. Will Artificial Intelligence outgrow humanity?

  6. For Christians, it is often a difficult question: what to think about creation and evolution. So there is also an internal lecture that talks about the strengths and weaknesses of four different approaches how Christians have thought about these questions.

If you check the lectures Alexander Fink has given at https://foclonline.org/users/alexander-fink, you can decide which topics you would like to use in your context. It is strongly recommended that you set up at least one or more evangelistic nights to which you and your church members can invite not-yet-believing friends and neighbours who have questions in the area of science and faith.

Commitment & Cost: Hosts will be responsible for promoting and recruiting key apologists and leaders from across their country and covering the cost for speakers of lodging, food, facilities, and transportation within their country.  There is also a fee of 300 euros for Central, Eastern, and Southern European countries and 400 euros for Western European countries to help cover the cost of travel.
