PARENTING IN THE DIGITAL AGE SEMINAR

EQUIPPING CHRISTIAN PARENTS TO NAVIGATE THE DIGITAL AGE WITH WISDOM

with Emanuel Tundrea

2025/2026

According to a Barna Group study, eight in ten parents (78%) believe it is more complicated today to raise children than in their parents’ day, and 65% of the respondents blame technology and social media. Are you feeling discouraged because your child is more irritable and defiant? Or perhaps just more forgetful and less empathetic? Or maybe you're simply looking for wise parenting advice in the digital age, hoping to strengthen your relationship and support your child’s brain development? God’s standard remains the same for both the physical and virtual worlds, and His Word is remarkably relevant, offering principles and resolutions for a healthy online and offline life! This is not an anti-technology seminar—on the contrary, I am a fervent advocate for it and for our role as parents in discipling our children to thrive in the digital age.

PERSONAL DIGITAL LEADERSHIP: DISCIPLINES FOR THE PARENTS

We are the first generation of parents raising children in a world shaped by both the digital age and a deeply individualistic culture. Yet, the Old Testament ends with a remarkable promise: when Christ comes, “He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents” (Mal. 4:6, NIV). So, what must change in us, the parents, first?

AI AND THE BATTLE FOR INFLUENCE

The AI buzz seems to be louder than ever. New tools that use AI are launched every month and the large AI companies are spending billions of dollars building ever-larger data centers to further accelerate AI capabilities. How does AI influence our lives and our parenting process?

THE TEENAGE BRAIN: PATHWAYS TO WELLNESS

Why are social media and video games so irresistible? Why is peer pressure so influential? It seems like there's a new, legal, and highly addictive “drug” on the market. What steps can we take to steer clear of the pitfalls and support the healthy development of our child's brain?

PERSONAL DIGITAL LEADERSHIP: DISCIPLINES FOR THE CHILDREN

What is your parenting philosophy: the presumption of innocence or the recognition of folly bound to a child's heart? Complete trust or parental control? Screen-free or screen- safe home? Instant or late adoption of new technologies?

How should I navigate my child's interaction with gadgets at different ages? Should I use the electronic babysitter? How can I manage both my child's anger and my own while fostering a healthy relationship between us?
